The Challenge

Workers’ comp insurance is confusing—especially for freelancers and small business owners who don’t have an HR team to guide them. The goal was to create a page that made complex legal info feel easy to understand and act on, without overwhelming users or losing credibility.

What I Did

I wrote and structured the entire workers’ comp page from the ground up, turning dense industry jargon into a smooth, helpful experience. I worked closely with product, legal, and design teams to make sure everything was accurate, clear, and aligned with user needs.

The Solution

  • Created a step-by-step roadmap so users could quickly figure out what kind of coverage they need.

  • Simplified technical insurance language into plain English.

  • Focused the content around user intent: What do I need to know? What do I need to do?

  • Designed the flow to reduce decision fatigue and make the process feel manageable—even for first-timers.
